Melvin A. Shorey, 64, of Acushnet, passed away peacefully Friday, March 26, 2021.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Arthur L. Shorey and Kathleen (Connick) Loureiro, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Melvin loved Halloween and decorating his house. His decorated house was showcased in the local newspaper. He also liked to garden and have bonfires in his yard.
Survivors include his children, Branden Shorey of Newport, RI, Derek Shorey of New Bedford, and Jonathan Shorey-Fernandes of Dartmouth; a brother Arthur Shorey; and several cousins; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
His memorial visitation will be Saturday, April 10th from 4 to 8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
