William Herman "Billy" McCard, 75, of Ashburn passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 at his residence.
Billy was born on May 30, 1945 in Ashburn to the late Humphrey Lanier and Eleanor Gilmore Griffin. He was a member of High Hill Baptist Church. Billy served his country with honor in the United States Air Force. He was also a retired Firefighter and Police Officer with the City of Ashburn. Billy loved to fish, enjoyed working with cows and loved his pets.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ford McCard of Ashburn; sons, Todd (Lisa) McCard of Fitzgerald, David (Laura) Holt of Oakfield, Jamie (Kelly) Holt of Oakfield and Eric (Jessica Smith) of Valdosta; grandchildren, Garrett Holt, Renee Holt, Abbi McCard, Aiden Holt, Erika Holt, Matthew Holt, Danny Holt, Eli Holt and Nathaniel Holt.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry McCard and Angela Fiveash.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Red Oak Cemetery. There will also be a live-stream on Facebook. For those who wish to pay their respects and sign the family's guest register, you may do so from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
