BARNEY Herbert G. “Butch” of Readville, formerly of Roxbury, passed away on March 26, 2021. Beloved husband of Lucille A. (Picardi) Barney. Devoted father of Kim Kennedy of Kingston, and Kristina and Laurie Barney both of Readville. Loving grandfather of Mark Glen, Carli, and John Kennedy. Brother of the late Patricia Boyd. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Proud member of the Roofers & Waterproofers Union Local #33. Longtime employee of John F. Shea Roofing Company. Butch also tended bar at IBEW Local #103, Freeport Lounge. He was a longtime volunteer with the special Olympics.
Visiting hours at the P.E. Murray - F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 2000 Centre St. West Roxbury on Tuesday, March 30th from 4-8pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, March 31st at 10am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anne’s Church, Readville at 11am. Please follow all covid-19 guidelines, maximum church capacity is 70. Interment in The Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury.
