Obituary

Robert W. Bonnar, 72, of Merrimack, NH, died Wednesday March 24, 2021 in his home. He was born in Brookline, MA on November 11, 1948, a son of Eldon and Bella (Collins) Bonnar. He had been a resident of Merrimack for 5 years, formerly living in Londonderry, NH. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 1968, and had attended UNH and Keene State College. Over the years, he had been employed for Manning Electric, the Londonderry Fire Dept., Digital Equipment, and Velcro USA. He was a member of the Londonderry Fish and Game Club, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, camping, playing 45’s, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Diana (Finnegan) Bonnar of Merrimack; three daughters, Beth Bonnar and her partner Dave Farrar of Boulder City, NV; Amy Chouinard and her husband Jon of Goffstown, NH; Sara Bonnar and her husband John Della Vedova of Kingston, WA; five grandchildren, Matthew and Rebecca Bonnar; Carter, Aidan and Grady Chouinard; two brothers, Thomas Bonnar, and Richard Bonnar; two sisters, Jean Milne, and Lois Garland (deceased); as well as several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 30th from 5 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Due to State of NH guidelines, all guests are required to wear masks, minimize contact and maintain social distancing. Private memorial services will be held for the family, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The National Wildlife Foundation.
