Obituary

Brian Meagher died peacefully at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich on March 23rd after a lifelong struggle with alcoholism.

Brian was a beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many people.

Brian grew up on the Cape; and lived here his entire life. He loved spending time on or near the water; and was especially happy when he was fishing or clamming. His stuffed quahogs are legendary.

He worked for many years for Oyster Harbors Services, and was more recently employed at Home Depot.

Brian was always the first one to help anyone who needed it. Any tough, grueling project that needed doing; he was the first one there. Brian was probably one of the few guys around who was never too busy when someone needed help moving.

He was a kind, gentle soul with an impish smile and a wicked sense of humor.

Brian is survived by his daughter Ashley Meagher of Centerville, his devoted partner Sue Carmody of Sandwich, his brothers Billy Meagher (and Nancy) of West Barnstable, Terry Meagher (and Andrea) of Centerville, Patrick Meagher (and Brenna Long) of Hyannis. His sisters Maureen McFadden (and Bill) of New Hampshire, Sheila Meagher Scudder of Centerville, and Kathy Meagher Murray of Marstons Mills. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Connie Meagher; and his siblings Dennis, Colleen and Michael.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
