Francesco S. "Frank" Sacco, a longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 91 years of age.
Frank was born in Montemiletto, Italy on July 5, 1929, a son of the late Alessandro Sacco and Maria Grazia (DeCristofaro) Sacco. He grew up in Montemiletto where he was educated and graduated from high school. Frank immigrated to the United States when he was 17 and began working as a cabinet maker. He was able to put his craftsmanship skills to good use, working for several companies including; Architectural Interiors and the James A. Glass Co. Even in his older age, Frank could be found building furniture in his cellar workshop. Frank was a member of the Charlestown Lions Club. He was an avid gardener, loved to cook, and even made his own wine. At 91 years old, Frank was still a self-sufficient man.
Frank is the beloved husband of 64 years to Florence Sacco. He is the devoted father of Alexander Sacco and his wife Patricia, Maria Sacco, and Francis Sacco and his wife Nancy. He is the loving Grandpa of James and his wife Amanda, Benjamin, Nina, Francis, and Thomas. He is the beloved brother of Maria Cerasuolo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Frank's funeral on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 9:30 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10:30 A.M. His burial will take place at St. Michael Cemetery in Roslindale. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 2 to 6 P.M. (FACIAL COVERINGS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED INSIDE THE FUNERAL HOME AND CHURCH).
