Richard M. Barboza, 69, of New Bedford passed away Saturday March 20, 2021 after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Juliette (Joia) Barboza and the late George Barboza, he lived in Freetown for most of his life. He also resided in Ohio and Las Vegas until returning to New Bedford.
Richard was formerly employed as a calender machine operator at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in New Bedford and Ohio until his retirement.
He loved foremost his family and enjoyed time spent with friends. He had a deep appreciation of music, especially jazz, and loved the time spent fishing on Cape Cod.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Richard Barboza, Michael Barboza, and Sonya Barboza; his siblings, Kenneth Barboza, George Barboza, Jeffrey Barboza, Theresa Jenkins, Joyce Barboza, and Michelle Barboza; eight grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
