Marie Lee Stone, 91, lifelong resident of Prosser, passed away on March 19, 2021 at Prosser Memorial Hospital.
She was born on July 30, 1929 to Loren and Mabel (Wunderlich)
McClure in Prosser where she was raised and educated. She graduated from Prosser High School with the Class of 1947. Marie married Ronald Stone in 1948. She worked in the concession stand at the bowling alley until 1959 when Ronald built the A&W Drive- In. The couple owned and operated the A&W until selling the business in 1970. She then worked as a baker for the Prosser School District until retiring.
Marie was a member of the Eastern Star and the Rattlesnake Grange and was a volunteer for the Prosser Museum and served as a member of the Prosser Cemetery Board. She enjoyed league bowling, camping, playing pinochle and traveling to Arizona during the winter months.
She is survived by her daughter, Renee (Mike) Mathis and her son, Gary Stone of Prosser; her brother, Bill McClure (Linda) of College Place; her grandchildren, Steven Mathis, Brian (Angie) Mathis, Josh (Veronica) Stone, Jeremiah Stone and Zachariah Stone all of Prosser; her great-grandchildren, Azriel Stone, and Wyatt, Lillian and Layla Mathis; her nephews, Gregory, Daniel and Michael Mc Clure; and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Ron on April 24, 1985 and daughter-in-law, Tamara Stone in 2017.
