Patricia Anne (O’Brien) Connell, 90, of Franklin formerly of Needham died March 22 in her home surrounded by family following a long illness. She was the wife of the late William E. Connell who died in 2007.
Born in Boston, January 18, 1931, the daughter of the late John and Anne (Ryan) O’Brien, Mrs. Connell was raised in Roxbury and had lived in Needham for many years prior to moving to Franklin 9 years ago.
Mrs. Connell had been an accountant at the family roofing company in Needham for many years.
She enjoyed and was a very talented painter.
She is survived by her children, William Connell, and his wife Kendra of South Yarmouth, Lisa Merullo and her husband Gene of Watertown, Brenda Schmall and her husband Randy of Franklin and was the mother of the late Kathleen Cronin.
She is also survived by her sister Elizabeth McNeil of Norwood.
Mrs. Connell is also survived by her grandchildren , Johanna Connell, Bobby Cronin, Christopher Schmall, Benjamin Connell, Brandon Cronin, Brett Cronin, Cameron Schmall, Chad Merullo, Brian Schmall, Brandon Merullo, Bradley Cronin, and the late Leanne Schmall and her great-grandchildren, Juliana, Adeline, Meredith, Sophia, Madison, Camryn and Blake.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 27 in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin at 10:00.
