Gaetano Magno, age 79, died Wednesday morning, March 22, 2006, in Boston at the North End Community Nursing Center, after a lenghty illness. Gaetano was born in Italy and was the son of the late Giuseppina (Bari) & Vincenzo Magno. Gaetano was a resident of Boston´s North End, formerly of Somerville & Italy.
When Gaetano wasn´t working he enjoyed cooking for family & friends. He also loved to cheer on Boston´s local sport´s teams. He worked for many years as a Laborer in the Construction field and was a retired member of Local 22.
Gaetano was the beloved husband of the late Concetta M. (Silvestro). Devoted father of Grace O’Connell and her husband Arthur, Josephine Magno, Vincenzo Magno all of Somerville, and Joseph Magno of Medford. Loving grandfather of Kristen O´Connell, Thomas O´Connell, Amanda Magno and Madison Magno. Dear Brother of Nicola Magno and his wife Santa of Stoneham, Maria, Melina, and Domenic Magno all of Italy the late Vincenzo and Francesca Magno. Loving Uncle of Nicole Magno-DeSouza and her husband Clovis, Danielle Magno and the late Maria Magno.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 262 Washington St., Somerville at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in Gaetano´s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
