James W. Munies age 78 of East Bridgewater, died March 18, 2021 at the Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. He was the devoted husband of Sandra L. (Argrew) Munies.
Jim was born in New York City and raised in Brockton, a son of the late Phillip and Martha (Shaw) Munies. A 1961 graduate of Brockton High School, he proudly served as a paratrooper in the US Army amassing over 150 jumps with the 82nd Airborne.
Jim worked at the City of Brockton waste water plant for many years. He was an avid reader and loved going to the beach and took many trips to Florida. Jim had a passion for baseball and coached Brockton Little League for many years and was admired by many of the players he coached.
Jim will be remembered as a loud and funny man who loved people. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his wife.
Jim was the father of Danielle Gustafson of Brockton and brother of John Munies and his wife Nancy of Plymouth, Russell Munies and his wife Jennifer of Middleboro and the late Nancy Munies Whitley and her late husband Paul. He also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews.
Visitation Tuesday March 23, 2021 in the funeral home 9:30-11am followed by a funeral service. Burial in the Mass National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45pm. Masks and social distancing must be observed in the funeral home and cemetery.
