June 28, 1932 - March 16, 2021

WEST BALDWIN- Mabel E. Bliss, age 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Tuesday morning in her home with her loved ones nearby.
She was born on June 28, 1932, a daughter of Genevieve Harding and Raymond Murch, Sr.
She was born & raised in Baldwin, Me. And graduated from Potter Academy in 1951.
Mabel worked many years and retired from Cornish Dress Shop. She was an excellent seamstress. She made the wedding dresses & some of the bridesmaid dresses for her girls’ weddings. She loved to crochet and could whip up an Afghan or create a dainty/detailed crocheted doily in no time!
She and her late husband Clark enjoyed working together at their home. They had the most awesome vegetable garden and she loved her flower gardens. A neighbor once teased that the two of them sat on their deck overlooking their gardens just waiting for a weed to sprout so they could go pick it out. They were meticulous about their gardens and grounds.
Another hobby they enjoyed together was sapping every spring and boiling down maple syrup. Their syrup was known and coveted by many locals.
Family and family gatherings were very important to Mabel. As were her special outings and shopping trips with her girls & sisters.
She was a longtime member of the Hilltop Baptist Church and enjoyed her church family.
The family is especially grateful for the love & support given by her nephew, Steven Guptill. Being close by, the family & she could count on him to check in on her daily.
