Kathleen Bernice White, a life-long Provincetown resident, passed away Wednesday, March 17th at the Windsor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Yarmouth. She was the wife of the late Ronald ‘Ronnie’ White who died in 2015. They were married 59 years.
Born in Barnstable to the late Joseph and Mary [Souza] Dasilva, she was a graduate of Provincetown High School. Following high school, she worked as a housekeeper summers at the Chateau Motel in Provincetown, but Kathy’s devotion was to her family.
She would cook lunch daily for her family and their friends throughout her life. There would be enough food for an army according to family members! Other than an occasional get-away with Ronnie to their North Conway, NH cabin, her house, and pool during the summer, were always busy with family and friends.
Kat, as she was known by her many friends, supported the Provincetown Rescue Squad with their bake sales and various fundraisers. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a communicant at St Peter the Apostle Parish in Provincetown.
She is survived by her children, Glenn and his wife Katherine of Dennis, David and his wife Debra White of Truro, Charlene and her partner Rodney DaRoza of Eastham, Cheryldine Martinez and her husband E.J. of Provincetown. She was the grandmother of Jamie, Justin, Evan and Kyla White, Eli and Katherine Martinez, Mallory Sequeira and Jeremy and Laurel Felton; and great-grandmother of Riley and Olivia Sequeria, Jerrad and Cameron White, Noah Veatch and Ella Baum. She was predeceased by a son, Ronald Kevin White and sister Mary Dasilva.
A Graveside Service and Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, April 8th at St Peter the Apostle Cemetery, Provincetown. All current Covid protocols will be observed.
