CHICOPEE – William J. “Bill” Wyman, 62, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life at his sister, Wendy’s home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on March 11, 1959, a beloved son of the late William E. and Wanda M. (Finster) Wyman. He was raised in Chicopee, attended Chicopee High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. He served his country in the United States Air Force and attained the rank of Airman. He was employed as a Maintenance Supervisor at the Chicopee Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in West Springfield. Bill was an avid golfer in Chicopee and was a member of the Tigers Athletic Club. Above all, he loved to spend time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his loving sister, Wendy K. Sliwa and her husband, Robert, of Chicopee; his cherished niece, Laura Sliwa; his two cherished nephews, Matthew Sliwa and Christopher Sliwa and his partner, Taylor Forrant; his cherished great nephews and great niece, John Paul, Nicholaus, Brayden and Brianna; his best friend, Kathy Page and her daughters, Lisa, Andrea, Emily, Katie, and Meghan; and his godchild, Sanaa; and his many dear cousins, friends and extended family members. His family will receive friends on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. which will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
