Geraldine Elizabeth Smith known to her family and friends as Gerry, was born on December 9, 1927 in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. She was the fourth child of Clementine and Norman Smalley. She attended school in Martha's Vineyard , Massachusetts.
She moved to Boston, Massachusetts in 1948 where she met Mack Smith. They were married in 1953, and from that union had three sons, Dwayne, Mack Jr., and Gregory.
After being a seamstress, Geraldine and her husband, Mack opened a convenient store. Known as Smitty's Mini Mart, which operated until it was destroyed by fire. Then she fully retired and enjoyed her family, especially the grandchildren. She loved the casino, scratch tickets, playing penny poker, gardening, and hosting holidays while cooking.
Gerry leaves to mourn her loss: two sons Dwayne, and Gregory; five grandchildren, Robert, Gregory, Rami, Te'Shana and Jade; eleven great grandchildren, Raymond, Kailiani, Michael, Jacob, Abigal, Logan, Ezra, Amari, Little Greg, Violtha, and Cairo; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday March 23, 2021 from 12-1 in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home located at 814 American Legion Highway Roslindale, Ma. A service will take place from 1-2 PM. Burial will be private.

All visitors must wear a MASK in the funeral home and on the funeral home property.
All visitors will then follow SAFE DISTANCING
All visitors may pause at Casket/Urn and then EXIT the Funeral Home.
All visitors when returning to their cars will please exit the property to allow others to enter.
All visitors will be able to greet family members from a safe distance but not able to touch.
