Andrew Kelly McCarthy passed away unexpectedly at the age of 37 in his home in Rockland, on the morning of March 1, 2021. Drew (also known as Andy) grew up in Braintree, and graduated from Braintree High School. After high school, Drew attended Massasoit Community College, earning an Associate’s Degree, and later a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix. While Drew worked as an accountant, he recently realized his dream of starting his own business.
Drew enjoyed participating in D & D and other fantasy games, in person and online. He spent many hours at Battleground Games. Drew was also an avid reader.
A passionate follower of heavy metal music, Drew was also an accomplished musician. In high school, he learned to play the violin and moved onto the standing bass. In the last few years, he turned his talent for playing stringed instruments to the guitar, both acoustic and electric.
Drew is predeceased by his mother, Margaret J. Driscoll, who passed away last March, and his brother Scott, who joined their mother in July. He is survived by his aunt, Barbara Driscoll de Alvarado, of Worcester and his cousin, Patrick J. Alvarado, MD, also of Worcester. He is also survived by cousins, and many friends.
