Mr. Leon “Appy” W. Appiani, 80, of Methuen passed away peacefully in his home on March 15, 2021 with his loving family by his side. The son of the late Leo and Alice (Tarr) Appiani, he was born in Medford on May 28, 1940. Mr. Appiani was an area resident of Medford and Burlington before moving to Methuen seven years ago. He served honorably in the National Guard and was the owner of The Fish House Restaurant in Burlington, MA. Mr. Appiani was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Sons of Italy, and enjoyed playing bocce ball, taking walks, and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Appiani is pre-deceased by his first wife Ann Dominica (Scola) Appiani. He is survived by his loving wife Leigh-Anne (Boggs) Appiani of Methuen, MA one daughter: Noel and her husband Craig Minichiello of Pelham, NH, two step daughters Jillian and her husband David Hettler of Pepperell, MA, and Alicia Murphy of Methuen, MA. Two sons: Peter Appiani and his girlfriend Lisa Lambert-McKenna of Hampton, NH, and Christopher Appiani and his wife Valerie of Tewksbury, MA. There are 2 sisters: Dr. Gail and her husband Dr. Douglas Lamb of Bloomington, IL, and Jane and her husband Robert Heil of Beverly, MA. There are 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
