FALL RIVER… Roger R. St. Pierre, 78, of Fall River passed away, Saturday March 13, 2021 at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River.
He was the loving husband of Meresia (Jane Machinia) St. Pierre, with whom he had spent 52 years of loving marriage and memories.
Roger St. Pierre was born in Fall River May 9,1942, a son of the late Roland and Lauretta (Leger) St. Pierre and had lived most of his life in Fall River Ma. He was the son in law of the late John and Kathryn Machinia of Pennsylvania.
Roger was employed as a manager with CK Smith Co. Prior to that he held a position with Stop and Shop as an assistant produce manager in Willimantic Connecticut, later Big G and Food Mart as a produce manager in the Fall River Area.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Stationed at Fort Bragg North Carolina as SP5(T) / E-5.
He loved spending time with his family and watching his favorite sports teams, a video poker machine was always nearby for his entertainment. He loved traveling with his wife Meresia Jane, as well as family and friends. He was especially fond of his travels to the Caribbean Islands. In his earlier years he had started a slow pitch softball Sunday morning league with his brother Robert. He so enjoyed bowling on a husband & wife’s bowling league and later a Friday night men’s league.
He is survived by his wife, 2 sons: Scott M. St. Pierre and his wife Linda of Swansea, Kevin A. St. Pierre of Fall River, a brother Robert L. St. Pierre of Fall River, 4 grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Colbey and Brooklynn, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, as well as his brother in-law Elmer Machinia of Pennsylvania.
He was predeceased by his sister Claire (St. Pierre) Berube, sister in law’s Lillian (Dunn) St. Pierre, Kathryn (Machinia) Turek, Gail (Coffman) Machinia, a nephew Steven J St.Pierre, and uncle and aunt Eddy and Clara Allard.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, April, 16, 2021 at 11 AM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02723 followed by inurnment at Massachusetts Nation Cemetery, Connery Ave. Bourne, MA. Calling hours will be held April 16, 2021 from 9-11 AM, prior to the service.
