Per Jason Parent, Londonderry High School Principal:
Londonderry High School will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Jacob Naar on Sunday, March 21st on the varsity football field from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Jake was an outstanding student-athlete, and a positive and influential leader in the Class of 2021. Members of our schools, community, and extended family and friends are welcome to attend in designated groups, where you will be able to pay your respects and honor Jake in a walk-through beginning at the right field entrance of the JV baseball field, toward the 50 yard line of the Varsity football field, and ending at the bleachers in front of the press box, where a memorial display will be set up. A guest book will be provided, or you may leave cards at the tables if you wish. Those unable to attend may watch on YouTube Live by visiting Home - Londonderry High School and clicking on the LHS YouTube icon.
We ask those attending to please follow the safety guidelines our school has put into place throughout this year. This includes wearing masks and social distancing. We anticipate large numbers attending this gathering, so we ask you to please arrive during your designated time and to keep moving through the aforementioned areas to allow everyone who wishes, the ability to participate. There will not be a receiving line, but the Naar family will be present in the stands for you to acknowledge them from a distance. People will then exit the field and walk up the ramp toward the concession stand and then to the main lot. Please do not congregate on campus after paying your respects, as several large groups will be attending at various times throughout this ceremony.
Please park your vehicles in the main lot by the gym, and then proceed to the path between the high school track and baseball / football field. We are asking the following groups (you most identify with) to attend during these designated times:
12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: (Londonderry’s Educational Staff, Community Members, Extended Friends/Families)
12:30 PM – 1:00 PM: (Londonderry Students in Grades K – 11 and their Family members)
1:00 PM – 1:30 PM: (Londonderry Seniors in the Class of 2021, LHS Alumni, and those Family members)
1:30 PM – 2:00 PM: (Football Team, Lacrosse Team, Cheer Team, Coaches, and Families of those teams)
We are looking forward to a wonderful tribute to Jacob Naar, and to show his family our continued love and support. They are special members of Lancer Nation, and we are honored to host this gathering. Peabody Funeral Home will be providing a private service for family members only, in the weeks ahead.
