Obituary

William Raposa, 79, of Sandwich, died unexpectedly on March 11, 2021 of natural causes. Born and raised in Fall River, he was the son of the late Adelino Rapoza and Mary (Morris) Rapoza. After over thirty years, he retired from Raytheon where he was a mechanical engineer. However, he was defined by the love that he had for his family. His only child, Lori (Raposa) Jodoin was his pride and joy, and he relished spending time with her, doing projects together or just talking about life. He gifted her with a stubborn streak, a passion to be the best one can be and too many words of wisdom to count. He adored his grandchildren. Whether teaching Nicholas about cars and tools or showing Katie how to shoot hoops, he loved every minute that he could spend with them. He embraced his son-in-law Charlie Jodoin as the son he never had and looked forward to Sunday dinners each week where he enjoyed Charlie’s cooking and always said it was better than any restaurant! It didn’t matter if he was spending time with family at home, watching football or baseball games, or vacationing with them, the gleam in his eyes and smile on his face always showed his adoration. He maintained a beautiful friendship with his wife, Joyce (Cote) Raposa, even after their lives took different paths, still showing the value of unconditional love both in sickness and in health. He leaves behind a dear friend, Deborah Briggs, whom he shared many memories with and numerous friends both here and in Florida. We will miss him terribly and love him forever. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hug your loved ones closer and never forget to tell them you love them. A memorial service, open to the public, will be held on Saturday, March 20th at 10AM in the Notre Dame Cemetery Chapel, 1540 Stafford Rd, Fall River, MA 02721.
