Elsie Rae Kearns, 87, Anderson died on March 15, 2021 at Sugar Fork Crossing following a brief illness.
She was born on August 15, 1933 in Anderson, to Daniel and Marguerite (Bowser) Olson.
She earned an associate degree from Ball State University. She worked at Anderson Community Schools for 30 years. She was a member of Madison Park Church of God. She liked to travel, crochet and playing the piano. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three children, Robert M. (Pam) Kearns II of Glenmore, Pennsylvania, Jamie (Rich) Stone of Carmel, and Kathi (Steve) Carroll of Noblesville; a sister, Carol L. Olson of Anderson; a brother-in-law, Larry (Jackie) Kearns of Southern Pines, North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Bonnie (Bob) Brooks of Eaton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Lindsay, Kristi, Tori, Courtney, Dan and Tanner; special friends, Tommy and Lori Goodson and Ron and Debbie Harmening; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Merle Kearns on May 7, 2019; and a great-granddaughter, Lainey.
A funeral service will be held at 4:30 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service (West Chapel entrance) with Rev. Tom Malbone officiating. A private burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
