Gerald J. Chicoine, 83, of Worcester, died Sunday, March 14th at Notre Dame Long Term Care Facility. He is survived by his nieces, Nancy Trottier of Manvel, TX, Patricia Conti of Massapequa Park, NY and Ann Marie Hesse of Hamburg, NJ and his nephew Paul Chicoine of Massapequa, NY and cousins, Marion McKeon and Billy Seaman. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bernard P. and Gordon F. Chicoine, and his sisters, Helen C. Cooper and Virginia A. Gavin.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Paul H. and Mildred E. (Stone) Chicoine; and was a graduate of the former Commerce High School. Gerald had been employed as an ARP Specialist for the Bank of America in its account reconciliation department for 40 years until his retirement in 1997. He had served as president for the bank's Employees Social Club. Gerald had been a member of Sacred Heart-St. Catherine Sweden Parish where he will be remembered for his deep baritone voice and commitment to visiting the sick. Always welcomed by family and friends, Gerald loved attending gatherings celebrating holidays, weddings and anniversaries. He will sorely be missed on the dance floor. Gerald also enjoyed watching sports and had played basketball and baseball in his youth.
His funeral will be held on Friday, March 19th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with his funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart-St. Catherine Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will follow in St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. A visitation will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
