Noel Berg, of Tiverton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 7th. He was 92.
Noel was born to Roland and Helen Berg of Brooklyn, NY and attended Erasmus Hall High School. After graduating from Columbia University, he served in Korea with the US Army as an Ordnance Engineer. Upon his return, he embarked on an extensive career as a Professional Engineer working for Boeing, Convair, and other companies in the aerospace industry. Noel spent the last 30 years before retirement with the Draper Laboratory of Cambridge, MA.
In addition to his family and beloved dog, Noel’s many passions included piloting, boating, scuba diving, fishing, and gardening. During retirement, Noel donated much of his time serving on various boards and comities for the betterment of Tiverton and the state of RI.
Noel had a kind and generous heart. He was a loyal and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He had a brilliant mind, an unassuming manner, and a keen sense of humor. He touched the lives of many. His presence and generosity of self will be greatly missed.
Noel is survived by; his wife Irene, son Gary, daughters; Susan and Marcia, and grandchildren Elizabeth and Natalie.
