Barbara M. Shields, 79, of Centre Avenue, Chepachet, died Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Bayberry Commons. She was the beloved wife of Robert F. Shields, Sr. They had been married for 53 years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William and Gladys (Grenier) Hawkins. She had lived in Chepachet for over 40 years and had previously lived in Johnston.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Robert F. Shields, Jr and his wife, Darlene of Chepachet, her grandchildren: Patrick, Emily, Ryan and Isabelle Shields and Benjamin Octeau, her two great grandchildren and her brothers: Thomas Hawkins of Florida, Raymond Hawkins of Johnston and James Hawkins of Belmont, MA. She was the sister of the late Richard Hawkins.
Her funeral was private. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Troop 44, C/O Myles Beltram, Scoutmaster, 35 Reservoir Road, Chepachet, RI 02814
