Obituary

Rosalina “Lina” (Carvalho) Maciel age 90, of Brockton died peacefully March 8, 2021 at the Genesys Healthcare in Milford. She was the wife of the late Antonio “Tony” Maciel for 56 years.
Lina was born and raised in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal and immigrated with her husband to the United States in 1975. She had been a nurse’s aide in the Brockton Hospital for over twenty years and retired in 1996.

Lina enjoyed cooking, knitting, bingo and Dollar Stores. She was a member of the Mad Hatters, the Brockton Council on Aging and the Luis de Camoes Club in Stoughton.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, everyone knew her as Vovo, who cared for nothing more than the wellbeing of her family. Lina was always there to lend a helping hand to her friends, neighbors and family.

Lina was the mother of Julio Maciel and his wife Marla of Wrentham and the late Silvio Maciel husband of Clarisse of Franklin. She was the grandmother of Bruno, Shawn, Jonathan, Darren, Christopher, Ryan, Lucas and the late Ricardo, great grandmother of Kaleigh, Cassidy, Julian and Ricardo and great, great grandmother of Avery.

Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton of Tuesday March 16, 2021 at 10:30am with visitation 9:30 – 10:30am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. In following COVID guidelines, masks must be worn and social distancing observed. There is a maximum of 50 people in the funeral home at any one time.
