Phyllis Ann Grice, 74, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Grice was born April 18, 1946, in Douglas, Georgia, to the late Jim & Eulaia Johns Yancey. She was a former security guard for Wal-Mart Distribution Center. Mrs. Grice was a member of the Fitzgerald Church of Christ.
She is survived by her children: Teddy Merritt & Joanne Barbara Hodges of Nichols and James Andy Merritt & Cynthia of Douglas; a daughter-in-law, Pam Merritt of Nichols; grandchildren: Jamie Merritt, Kelcie Merritt, Tedra Lenee Wilcox, Teddy Larue Merritt, Jr., Shayla Merritt and Haley Merritt; several great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Jerry Yancey of Ocilla, Sherry Lott of Fitzgerald and Eveline Lane of Live Oak, Florida. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Eugene “Gene” Grice; a son, Jimmy Brooks Merritt and a sister, Euodis Crews.
