CHICOPEE – Carolyn R. (Pineault) Griffith, 77, of Chicopee, was peacefully called home on Saturday, March 6, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Fall River, MA on July 7, 1943, of the late Albert L. Pineault and Rita L. (Fiola) Pineault. As a lifelong Chicopee resident, she attended Chicopee High School, graduating class of ’61. From there, Carolyn attended Holyoke Community College, received a BS in Biology from AIC and an MBA from WNEC. Carolyn’ s motto was “never stop learning”. Her medical career began as a Medical Technician at Springfield Hospital/Wesson Memorial (pre Baystate) in 1973 and many years later ended when she retired as a Nursing Home Administrator for Ring Nursing Homes in Springfield. Carolyn also owned a 7-Eleven franchise, managed FL Roberts locations and later on in life worked as an Assistant Manager and as an Associate in the bakery department at Walmarts locally. Her greatest “job” was that of Grandmother to Jordan and she could be found at all his games and events. Carolyn volunteered at Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen and was a member of the Chicopee Business and Professional Women’s Club and the Scantic Valley Investment Club. She enjoyed trips to the casino, traveling and working in her garden as well as an array of art forms but was most known for teaching and creating ceramics, knitting and sewing. Carolyn was also proud to have taken flying lessons to become a pilot. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, her faithful companion Murphy and her many friends. She leaves her loving daughter, Melissa C. Griffith; her cherished grandson, Jordan C. Joe; her dear sister, Collette J. Ingram; her dear nephew, Kurt M. Ingram; a very good friend, Margaret J. Gray; as well as many dear aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and numerous friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her dear sister, Hortense Beaudry; her dear nephew, Kevin A. Ingram; and an amazing friend, Fay D. Ward. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Summit Elder Day Care program for the love and care they showed to Carolyn towards the end of her life. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. which will be followed by Life Reflections at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
