SPRINGFIELD ~ Barbara J. “Jean” (Muller) Kane, 87, of the Sixteen Acres section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Monday, March 8, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on November 1, 1933, a beloved daughter of the late William W. and Bolice (Vismont) Muller. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from Classical High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was employed at the Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company in Springfield and retired as an Agent Financing Clerk. She was a communicant of Saint Patrick Church in Springfield. During her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, completing puzzles and gardening. She also enjoyed watching Oprah, Dr. Phil and Judge Judy on television and finding treasures at many local flea markets. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, William M. “Bill” Kane who was Called Home on February 26, 2020. They were married on September 11, 1954 at Holy Name Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 65 years of happiness together. She also leaves her two loving children, Stephen P. Kane and his wife, Brenda, of Enfield, CT and Kathleen A. "Kathy" Tracy and her husband, Tim, of Springfield; her five cherished grandchildren, Patrick Kane, Holly and Allison Abair, Justin Tracy and his partner, Ashley Sunter, and Lindsey Tracy; her three cherished great-grandchildren, Devin Voisine, Natalie Paquette and Bryson Tracy; her two dear sisters, Phyllis Siniscalchi and her husband, Tullio, of Wilbraham and Judith Tracy and her husband, John, of Monson; her dear sister-in-law, Gene Giammarino of Boston; and her many dear nephews, nieces, friends and extended members of the Kane, Muller and Tracy families. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Prayer Service on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 9:15 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8:15 a.m.). Her Committal Service will follow the Prayer Service at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. Please note that masks are required, social distancing must be observed and funeral home and cemetery capacity is limited due to state regulations.
