Wendy B. Kay, 79

Wendy (Beauregard) Kay, age 79, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of William S. Kay, to whom she was wed on May 27, 1961.
Born in Plymouth, MA on December 13, 1941, she was a loving daughter of the late Wilbert H. and Phyllis C. (Smith) Beauregard.
Wendy grew up in Plymouth, was a 1959 graduate of Plymouth High School and served as Class Secretary. Throughout the years, she was very instrumental in keeping classmates together and providing notification on Class Reunions.
Mrs. Kay was a familiar face in the Mansfield community, where she resided for the past sixty-one years. She was well known for her exceptional baking skills and prior to retiring, was a baker at the former Mansfield Chocolate Factory and for the Mansfield Public Schools.
Wendy was an active member of the Mansfield Garden Club and the Mansfield Council on Aging. She loved spending time with her cherished family and close friends alike. Her hobbies included taking family cruises, spending time at the beautiful beaches in Plymouth and she will always be remembered for the windsocks that adorned her yard.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving daughters: Kimberly J. Bayer and her husband David Bayer of Webster, Cynthia S. Merritt and her husband Mansfield Deputy Fire Chief Robert Merritt of Attleboro and Cheryl A. Kay and her husband David Lampell of Utah. She was the cherished grandmother of Cameron and Kayla Merritt and David, Elizabeth and Brandon Lampell. She was the sister of the late Cooper Beauregard and is also survived by her nephews.
A service in celebration of her life will be held at a later date and place to be announced. Burial will take place privately at Oak Grove Cemetery in Plymouth.
