Pierre C. Tremblay, 61, of New Bedford passed away Wednesday March 3, 2021.
Born and raised in New Bedford, the son of the late Eugene A. and Lucille R. (Bellenoit) Tremblay, he resided in Minnesota before returning to New Bedford.
Pierre was a skilled carpenter and craftsman who was employed by the City of New Bedford Department of Facilities and Fleet Management for the past 16 years. He was noted for his attention to detail while restoring and repairing many of the city’s historic buildings.
He traveled to Minnesota in December for Christmas and in July to celebrate holidays with his kids and grandkids. He loved going on trips to see anything and everything historic. Nantucket was a favorite of his. He loved being a part of a town and community with so much history behind it. He took great pride in helping New Bedford stay historic and doing his part. He had planned to retire early and move to Minnesota and live on his youngest daughter’s property in a place they planned to build for him this summer.
He is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Tremblay and Amanda Smith and her husband Joe; his brother, Harold N. Tremblay and his wife Therese; six grandchildren, Kylie, Logan, Riley, Maddyx, Edyson, and Josie; his nephew, Jeremy Tremblay and his wife Kristi and their daughter, Penelope.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Melissa Lorenz and his granddaughters, Angela and Desiree.
