LEICESTER: Stella B. McNamara,96, of the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, March 8th with her daughter Susan at her side.
She was the wife of Lawrence F. McNamara who died in 1980. She leaves her sons; Paul L. McNamara and his wife Mary of New Smyrna Beach, FL., Bernard J. McNamara and his wife Brenda of Jonesborough, TN, Lawrence S. McNamara and his wife Mary Margaret of Clarksville, TN, and Thomas J. McNamara and his wife Cecile of Sherbrooke, Can., her daughter Susan McNamara of Fitchburg, 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Theodore and Charles Paulauskas.
She was born in Leicester, the daughter of Stanislovas and Amelia (Alseikai) Paulauskas and later graduated from Leicester High School. She was a founder of Towtaid Park in Cherry Valley, a member of the Leicester Red Hat Society and Hillcrest Country Club. She enjoyed playing golf (recorded 2 "holes in one"), bowling, gardening and the polka. The family would like to thank her caregivers for the compassionate care given to Stella over the years while caring for her at home.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 13 at 11 a.m. in St. John's Cemetery (St. Lawrence section). Covid 19 precautions at the cemetery must be observed with face masks and social distancing.
