" Kathleen Ann “Dathy” Loehmer passed away suddenly on February 26th, 2021. Although her death untimely, Kathy lived her sixty-seven years as fully as she possibly could have. A Baltimore native, Kathy was born to Charles and Virginia Lee Loehmer in 1953, later joined by her “little baby brother,” Michael Loehmer. Kathy graduated Mercy High School in 1971 before continuing her education at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She graduated in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in History. As an enthusiastic lover of arts, Kathy worked as a box office manager at Baltimore Center Stage for several years, a time she remembered and reminisced fondly. She held jobs with MICA and Springboard Family and Children Services before joining Johns Hopkins University in 2011, where she tirelessly dedicated herself to her work, coworkers, and students.
Kathy is remembered by her loved ones as a beautiful and courageous force of nature. Her passionate and vivacious spirit endeared her to everyone she encountered. She was generous, considerate, and devoted to her family and friends. She crafted meaningful relationships with everyone in her life, sharing their joy, hardships, and victories. Kathy understood the value of a moment before it was gone, and often documented everything she could with her signature digital camera. Her candid eye, unique sense of sentimentality, and warm smile will be gravely missed by all those who cared for her.
Kathy is survived by her beloved brother Mike and his family, her cousins, and her extended family. She is also remembered by her dearest friends, all of whom she considered an extension of her family.
A memorial service will be held to honor Kathy later this year in an attempt to celebrate her life as fully as she deserved. Her family will be sure to provide those details in the near future. "
