Ruth Harriet Madden, resident of Windham Falls in Groton, formerly of Calumet City, Ill., died peacefully at Mariner Health at Pendleton where she had been a patient.
She was born on Nov. 30, 1922 in Dolton, Ill., to Augusta and Alban Reich
After attending Elmhurst College she had careers in sales promotion and marketing. She retired in 1991 as the head of the patient accounting department of La Rabida Children's Hospital in Chicago.
Married to Thomas Madden who predeceased her, she is survived by her sister, Alice Reich, of Chicago, and her son Daniel Madden, his wife, Donna, and their children, Jaren and Lorell.
Services will be private at the discretion of the family.
Friends may contribute in her memory to the Connecticut Humane Society, Hospice of Southeastern Connecticut, La Rabida Children's Hospital of Chicago or the charity of their choice.
