Priscilla G. (Goodwin) Bailey, age 98 of Bridgewater, formerly of Taunton and Brockton, died peacefully on March 6, 2021 at Nemasket Health Care Center in Middleboro. She was the devoted wife for 46 years of the late Forrest Bailey.
Priscilla was born in Whitman, a daughter of the late Davis and Louise (DeMaranville) Goodwin. She was raised in Whitman and Brockton and was a 1941 graduate of Brockton High School. For many years Priscilla was a purchasing expeditor at Knapp Shoe Company and previously worked at EC Hall in Brockton.
Priscilla will be remembered as always being dressed well: coiffed, manicured and jeweled. She took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, often telling friends and strangers alike of what she saw as their great feats. As their children grew, Priscilla and Forrest took in foster babies, infants and toddlers, culminating in many years of love given and received.
In her free time, Pricilla enjoyed quilting, knitting, cross-stitch, reading and crossword puzzles and in her younger years she loved to dance and sing. She also had a deep interest in history and religion. She was a Past Noble Grand of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows AF & AM, Acacia Lodge, and member of her church’s En Ami Club and hand bell choir.
Priscilla was a longtime member of Christ Congregational Church, UCC where she was passionate about her service as a church deacon. She took special time with the teens she mentored as part of their confirmation class education. Priscilla also spent many years as a volunteer coordinator of the annual Christmas Pageant at the church.
Priscilla is survived by her three children Candace Savage, wife of the late Duane, of Bridgewater; Scott Bailey and his wife Kimberly of East Taunton and Priscilla “Penny” Ronan and her husband Martin of Lakeville. She was the grandmother of Christina Willey, Shannon Lawrence, Marissa and Katelyn Bailey, Matthew and Zachary Ronan and the late Michaela Jane Ronan and great grandmother of Haley and James Willey and Kayla, Johnathan and Jason Lawrence. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Priscilla was the sister of the late Davis “Hoofer” Goodwin, Jr., Edward and Barry Goodwin, Lorraine Lewis and Audrey Cormier.
