November 24, 1931 – February 25, 2021
Ernestine (Rae) Hill was born November 24, 1931 in Swan Lake, Arkansas to the late Henry and Ida Stredrick. In 1950, she became a resident of Ventura County where she met and married her late husband Roy L Hill, Sr on January 29, 1951. She became a member of Bethel A.M.E Church Oxnard in October 1950 where she served faithfully for over 70 years.
Ernestine worked at Stokely Van Camp for over 15 years. After leaving Stokely’s she worked for the California Youth Authority; where she retired after 25 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her both of her parents, her husband Roy L Hill, Sr., son Roy L Hill, Jr., sister Rozell Gaines, and granddaughter Maleeka Deal. She leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons Stanley Hill of Ventura, California and Raynard Hill of Oxnard, California; two daughters Tambra Hill of Port Hueneme, California and Karen Hill-Scott of Oxnard, California, 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Friday, March 12, 2021 at the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 East Main Street, Ventura. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Bethel AME Oxnard, 855 S F St, Oxnard. Burial will follow at 1:00pm at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
