Obituary

Keith W. Himmel, 63 of Londonderry, NH died unexpectedly on Wednesday March 3, 2021 at his home. Keith was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 26, 1957, a son of the late, Daniel and Agnus (Jensen) Himmel.

Keith was a member of the Teamsters, having worked as a cross country trucker for 20 years. He had at one time owned and operated a lumber yard. More recently, Keith was tending chickens at home slowly building a homestead with which he intended to open a farming business. Many people in the community also looked forward to the sight of his plow truck headlights on snowy cold nights. A perfect end to the day for Keith would include a good sci-fi movie with his three beloved dogs Raspberry, Teddy, and Yogi draped across the couch alongside him.

Keith maintained many skills. He had a vast knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, engines, and could fix just about anything. He was a musician and he enjoyed playing rock and roll. He took pride in having played the drums for the St. Jude Parish in Londonderry. He was also a member of the Friendship Center in Derry, NH.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Dunne) Himmel of Londonderry, one son, Joshua Himmel of Manchester, NH, two daughters, Elizabeth (Himmel) Barrett and her husband, Cameron Barrett of Derry, and Dawn (Walker) Gilbert and her husband Tom Gilbert of Kingston, NH, one granddaughter, Lyla Barrett of Derry, one brother, Benjamin Himmel and his wife Maria Azua-Himmel of Charlotte, NC, several nephews, and the mother of his children, Karen Himmel of Billerica, MA.
