Arnold F. “Arnie” Meyer, of Medford, passed away on Monday, March 1st. He was 88. Born and raised Medford, he was the son of the late Gerhart and Freida (Steinhauser) Meyer. Arnie enlisted into the United States Army in the winter of 1954, from Medford, Massachusetts, serving during the Korean War. Arnie was a dedicated member of the VFW in Medford, where he helped set up for bingo and served as a bartender.
Arnie had a wonderful sense of humor and made everyone smile. He loved spending time outside gathering with his family by the pool. An avid sports fan he enjoyed watching all types of sports games on his TV.
Arnold was the devoted father of Arnold F. Meyer Jr. and his wife Christine, of Salem, NH, and the late Richard Meyer. He was the loving grandfather of Nicole Meyer of Pepperell, Karl Meyer of Lowell, Amanda Meyer of Manchester, NH, and Paul Meyer of Burlington. Caring Great Grandfather of Gavin Buckless, Sophia Buckless, and Emma St. Pierre, all of Manchester, NH. H was the beloved companion of Rose Hennigan. Arnold also leaves behind his furry friend Kylie and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit Arnie’s family on Saturday, March 13th from 9 through 11AM at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, with Military Honors. Social distancing protocols will be in place during all services.
