Victoria Nichole Wheeler
Known and loved as Linda Susan, Victoria Nichole passed unexpectedly on March 2, 2021, surrounded by family. In the summer of 1974, she married Charles F. Wheeler, and they settled in Mystic where they have lived for the last 46 years.
Born August 13, 1949, in Englishtown, New Jersey, she was adopted by Paul and Trudy Barber of Mystic, Connecticut.
Victoria put herself through hairdressing school, where her love for the beauty industry and people led her to be an instructor and managed two salons in Mystic. A devout Christian, she dedicated her retired years to several local churches.
She is survived by her children Lisa Brooks and Joseph Doucette and her stepsons John Fish and Charles Wheeler Jr. and his wife, Lynda. She leaves behind her husband, Charles F. Wheeler, and her four grandchildren Grace Balestracci, Dylan Doucette, Michelle Doucette, and Tyler Wheeler.
Victoria will be missed by her four sisters Roxanne Winslow, Kathe Barber DiClemente, Brenda Chapman, Cynthia Daigneault, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her sister-in-law Elizabeth Wheeler, her niece Tina Bridgeman, her brother-in-law Ralph Wheeler, her uncle Kenneth Haefner, she will also be missed by her cat Mower, aka Little Girl.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, March 17, at 1:00pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. Burial in Elm Grove Cemetery will be private for the family at a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to Wounded Warriors or to a charity of the donor's choice.
