FALL RIVER, MA. Raymond “Boom Boom” Brisson, 80, of Fall River passed away at home on Monday, March 1, 2021. He was the husband of Donna Victoria (Lopes) Brisson of Fall River.
Born in Fall River in October of 1940, he was a son of the late Rene L. and Bernadette (Desmarais) Brisson and a lifelong resident of the city. Ray enjoyed watching baseball and football games but above all else, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was the past Senior Vice-President of the V.F.W. Men’s Auxiliary, assisted in running BINGO for the V.F.W. and was a member of their billiards league.
Mr. Brisson worked as a machine operator at Quaker Fabric and Chase Curtain until his retirement. In 2003, he joined the South Coast Funeral Home staff as a Funeral Attendant where he could be found manning the door during calling hours and funerals.
Along with his wife, survivors include his son: William E. Lopes of Fall River; his stepdaughters: Lisa L. Oliver and Teresa M. Moorman, both of Fall River, Sarah A. Oliver of Cary, NC and V.A. Lopes of Harrison, NJ; his brothers: Maurice Brisson and his wife Lorraine of Fall River and Normand Brisson of Swansea; his nephews: Robert & Brian Brisson; and his niece: Sheila Wilkins; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was the great grandfather of the late Jayrah Tru, step-father to the late Paul Jason Allen and brother-in-law of the late Doris Brisson.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday, March 8, 2021 at 9 AM beginning at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St., Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 1335 North Main St. Fall River. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 5PM – 8 PM. Social distancing and masks are required.
