Obituary

Hawkom, Bryan Arne 51, of Needham, Mass passed away on March 3, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 6, 1969 in Lowell Massachusetts.

In 1996, he married Katherine (Katie) Santos in Harwichport, Massachusetts. They have 4 wonderful children: Kaylin (21), Andrew (18), Grace (12) and Jack (10) all of Needham, Massachusetts.

Bryan attended Chelmsford High School and also graduated from Boston College in 1992 with a BA in Economics.

Bryan’s first professional job was as a social worker in elder services where he met Katie. He ultimately went on to a rewarding career as a consultant to multiple school systems throughout the country at Public Consulting Group in Boston. Bryan will be remembered by all who knew him as a generous, smart, caring, and loyal person. Bryan enjoyed Cape Cod, and spent lots of time at their beach house. He also loved cars, reading, playing the piano, and good food and drink. Most of all though, he cherished spending time with his beloved family.

In addition to Katie and his children, he is survived by his mother Linda (Nelson) Hawkom of Chelmsford, MA, his identical twin brother, Bruce A (Jessyka) Hawkom of Manchester, NH, his sister, Kristin L. (John) Francisco of Franklin, MA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman A. Hawkom.

Visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave. Needham, on Friday, March 5, from 4-7pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited. A private Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 6, in St. Bartholomew Church, Needham. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Bryan’s memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 60 Walnut St. #102 Wellesley, MA 02481.
