Hazel W. (Shorey) Mason, 95, of Swansea, went Home to her reward on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Catholic Memorial Home. She was the wife of William C. Mason and the late Wilson L. Brown.
Mrs. Mason was born in Westport, daughter of the late Allen M. Shorey, Sr. and the late Lillian A. (Wentworth) Shorey and had resided in Swansea for most of her life.
Prior to retirement, she worked as a bookkeeper. Her favorite pastimes included Sudoku puzzles and crafting. She also enjoyed hosting large gatherings at her home with family and friends. Hazel held a special affection for Beagles and had many of her own over the years.
Survivors along with her husband include her daughter: Gail D. (Brown) Dougherty and her husband Russ of Swansea; 4 step-sons: William K. Mason of Rochester, Jeffrey P. Mason of SC, Christopher J. Mason of Canada and Thomas E. Mason of GA; several grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Allen M. Jr., Mahlon, Arthur, William Shorey, and Lillian Cahoon.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be March 20th, 2021 at 11 A.M. at New Hope Christian Church, 1436 G.A.R. Highway, Swansea, MA
