Arsenia G. (DePina) Jones, 81, of New Bedford died March 1, 2021 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Roger G. Jones.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the daughter of the late Benjamin G. and Julia A. (Lobo) DePina, she has lived in New Bedford since 1970.
Mrs. Jones was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
She was formerly employed by the Acushnet Company until her retirement.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, listening and dancing to Cape Verdean music, going for long rides and sitting at the beach. She loved to cook and eat lobster.
Survivors include her son, Domingos Pina of New Bedford; 3 daughters, Helena DePina of North Attleboro and Hilda Lopes and Tilly Feliciano and her husband Richie, all of New Bedford; a brother, Edwardo DePina of Brava, Cape Verde; a sister, Edelia Andrade Lobo of Lisbon; 7 grandchildren, Scott Lopes, Eric DePina, Domingos DePina, Jr., Aaron Feliciano, Jacell Feliciano, Kaelyn Feliciano and Bella Feliciano; 4 great-grandchildren, Juellian DePina, Kai Lopes, Isla Feliciano and Sienna Feliciano; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Francisco DePina and the sister of the late Luis DePina.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday, March 5th at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will be in Pine Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, March 4th from 4-7 PM.
