Sandie Sumner Bryant, 62, of Wilcox County, Georgia, died Sunday, February 28, 2021, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Dorminy’s Mill Baptist Church in Ben Hill County, Georgia, with the Rev. Ike Thomas and the Rev. Terry Pope officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Ben Hill County, Georgia. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, from 6PM until 8 PM at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Bryant was born January 17, 1959, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late Kelly & Carolyn Elizabeth Hitch Sumner. She was a 1978 graduate of Wilcox County High School and worked for Coffee Regional Medical Center for 22 years as a Physical Therapist Tech. She loved to cook and bake. Mrs. Bryant was a member of Dorminy’s Mill Baptist Church where she faithfully served in the children’s department. She was a teacher and helped with Vacation Bible School every year; was on the pulpit committee and always volunteered to help with anything the church was doing.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Dennis Bryant of Wilcox County; daughters: Misty Adkison Towson & Will of Ocilla and Kristy Adkison Stephens & Jonathan of Campbellton, Florida; and their father, Wilbur Adkison of Fitzgerald; a step-daughter, Emily Lynn Adams & Austin of Fitzgerald; a step-son, Michael Dennis Bryant of Valdosta; grandchildren: Austin Stephens, Cody Stephens, Colt Stephens, Connor Towson, Jack Towson and Axl Adams; a sister, Tammy Yeargin of Fitzgerald and two brothers: Kevin Sumner of Chauncey and Jason Sumner of Owensboro. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
