Richard R. Johnson, age 73, of Brockton, died February 20, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Anita C. (Theall) Johnson for fifty one years.
Richard was born and raised in Wasioja, Minnesota a son of late Robert and Thelma (Kent) Johnson and was a resident of Brockton for many years. Following his high school graduation, Richard enlisted in the US Navy and served two tours in Vietnam.
Richard received his bachelor degree from the University of Massachusetts in Boston and had been a supervising engineer for medical instrument equipment.
In his free time, Richard enjoyed playing games on the computer, doing crossword puzzles and watching all sports on television especially football games. He will be remembered as an outgoing and patient man who loved spending time with his family.
Richard was the father of Richard R. Johnson, Jr. of Brockton and Jeffery Johnson of Hanover and grandfather of Jeffery Johnson Jr. He was the brother of Linda, Candy, Loretta, Sarah, Paul, Scott, Martha, Jim and the late Jay and Mary and like a brother to Sally Stuky.
Burial with military honors will be held at the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne on Monday, March 8, at 11:30 am. Relatives and friends may meet at the entrance to the cemetery at Connery Ave., Bourne, MA 02532.
