Lily A Binette, age 97, of Clearwater, FL and a former longtime resident of Wilmington passed away peacefully, February 22, 2021, at the Brookside Hospice Facility in Palm Harbor, FL. Lily was the beloved wife of the late Arthur H. Binette. Born in Chelsea she was the daughter of the late Walter F. and Mary A. (Mooers) Strem.
Lily was raised and educated in Tewksbury and was a graduate of Tewksbury High School. She eventually settled in Wilmington where she lovingly raised her family for many years. In 1973 she moved to Florida. She worked for many years as a secretary for the Pinellas County Government and also as Inspector for Environmental Management. A talented artist, Lily loved oil painting and was a member of the Spring Hill Art Guild in Florida. She was also a talented musician and from an early age enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She occasionally taught piano lessons but mostly played for her and her family's enjoyment. Lily will be fondly remembered for her devotion and unconditional love of her family.
Lily was the devoted mother of Beverly Alden of New Ipswich, NH, and the late Valerie Woodburn. Stepmother of Andrea Carpenter of Palm Harbor, FL, William Binette, Douglas Binette, Martha Mason of Bath, NY, Denise Binette of Oldsmar, FL. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Sister of the late Gladys Arsenault, Walter "Bummy" Strem, and John Strem. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 374 Main St. Wilmington, Tuesday, March 2nd, at 11 a.m. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
