WEBSTER – Dorothy M. “Dottie” (Hencinski) Kasierski, 83, died Saturday, February 14, 2021 in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge. Her husband of 30 years, Frank A. Kasierski, died in 1990.
She leaves 2 brothers, Robert J. Hencinski and his wife Sylvia of Albany, GA, and George E. Hencinski and his wife Rosemary of Fort Worth, TX; her best friends Cindy Bourbeau, Jack and Michelle Daveau, Jane Jewell and her family, Carol Murray and her family, and many nieces and nephews. Her neighbors on Birch Island were her second family. An aunt, Helen Dziedzic, predeceased her.
She was born on November 23, 1937 in Webster, the daughter of Joseph and Stasia T. (Dziedzic) Hencinski and was a lifelong resident, living on Birch Island for the past 60 years. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1955.
Mrs. Kasierski worked at Webster Lens in Webster and at Gentex Optics in Dudley before she retired. For many years, she and her husband Frank ran the Cosmos Club in “The Hub.”
Dottie was a communicant of Saint Joseph Basilica and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality where she once served on the executive board, the Sacred Heart Society, the St. Ann Society and the St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club. She co-chaired the cash calendar committee for years.
Dottie’s life focused on family friends and faith. She was a weekly adorer at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and often substituted for others. She was an excellent baker. Parties and holidays, everyone wanted to have what she had made. She enjoyed shopping trips with friends to the old Spag’s and to K Mart. She was a member of the Webster Lake Association. Her sweet and calm manner, knowledge of the Town of Webster and dry wit will be sorely missed.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 10, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. A time of visitation will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 AM Wednesday in the funeral home, prior to the Mass. Current health guidelines will be in place and everyone must wear a mask. Donations in her name may be made to Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570.
