Bang Thi Nguyen, 92, of Worcester passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at UMass Memorial University Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on April 18th, 1928 as the daughter of late Tuong Nguyen and Nong Huynh, Bang was a successful businesswoman back in her hometown of Tuy Hoa, Phu Yen, Vietnam. Bang immigrated to the United States in 1988 and lived in Worcester for the remainder of her life. She was well known for being a family-oriented woman who was kind to everyone she met.
She was the dedicated wife to late husband of 68 years, Hoa Kim Nguyen and the loving mother of twelve children. She leaves behind her children: Tung Nguyen of Worcester, Thanh Nguyen and wife Thai of Belgium, Van Nguyen and husband Tho of Worcester, Ha Toohey and husband David of Worcester, Thuan Nguyen and husband Luu of Worcester, Loc Nguyen and wife Nghia of Worcester, Tho Nguyen and wife Nhung of Canada, Hoang Nguyen and wife Tuyet of Worcester, Huy Nguyen and his wife Hue of California, Bryan Nguyen of Worcester, KimNgan Nguyen-Vo and husband Duc of Malden, and KimNga Nguyen and husband Khoa of Malden. Bang is survived by twenty-nine cherished grandchildren: Carole Nguyen and husband Ismail, Rebecca Toohey, Dung Dinh and fiancé Julie, Tai Dinh and wife Lan, David Dinh, Michael Dinh, Joe Nguyen and fiancé Siena, John Nguyen, Vy Nguyen, Long Nguyen, Luc Nguyen, Lynn Nguyen and husband Joe, Luyen Nguyen and husband Long, Luong Nguyen, Hong Tien Nguyen, Uyen Nguyen, Huyen Nguyen, Kim-Yen Vo, Thuy-Tam Vo, Quynh-An Vo, KimThao Tran, NhatMinh Tran, and MinhDuy Tran. She also leaves four treasured great grandchildren: Kaan Ozek, Carson Dinh, Jackson Dinh, and Milo Huynh. In addition, she is survived by her younger sister Ruong Nguyen and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held between 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at the O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Ave, Worcester, MA 01603. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
