Barbara Jean Allen, 79, passed away on February 2, 2021 in Cape Coral, FL. Barbara was born in Portland, ME on June 13th, 1941 to Timothy & Dora Joyce, the second of six children. In 1960, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Allen, and together they raised four children, Diane, Jennifer, Stacey, and Stephen.
Over the years, Barbara and Bob made their homes in Westbrook, ME, Londonderry, NH, and eventually in Cape Coral, FL. Barbara worked in the real estate industry and was an office manager for 30 years. She had many friends and was always full of stories from her childhood in Portland or Peaks Island, ME with brothers and sisters, many beach outings with her dearest friend Anne Noyes with their combined 8 children in tow, or her shopping bargains and exploits.
She leaves behind her husband of a little more than 60 years, Bob, four children, Diane Best and husband Greg, Jennifer Ivancic and husband Peter, Stacey Allen and wife Laura; and Stephen Allen and wife Jill, as well as eight grandchildren, Marissa, Brianna, Kelsey, Haley, Jack, Ryan, Reece and Carson. Her remaining siblings are Philip Joyce and his wife Barbara, Tim Joyce and his wife Gloria, Mary O’Bradovich, and Kathleen Veroneau. Also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul & Simone Allen, Vincent Allen, Jan & Faye Allen, Kathy & John Bruni, Maureen Callahan, and Donna & Dennis Pyper.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 10:00am with attendance limited to family only. The Mass will be live streamed for anyone else who wish to virtually attend at https://stjudenh.com/. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry. Due to State of NH guidelines, all guests are required to wear masks, minimize contact, and maintain social distancing. A Celebration of life is being planned for a date in the future.
