James E. “Jimmy” Cotter, 36, of South Boston, entered into eternal life suddenly on Thursday, February 18, 2021. James was born in Boston on April 21, 1984, the son of James E. Cotter and the late Catherine Leclair. He grew up in South Boston where he was educated in the Boston Public Schools and graduated in 2003. James worked as a laborer for many years. A lifelong fan of Boston Sports as well as a music lover and devotee.
James is the beloved son of James E. and Nina Cotter of Charlestown, and the late Catherine “Cathy” Leclair of South Boston. He is the loving brother of Catherine “Katie” Cotter and Patrick Linskey, both of South Boston. Cherished grandson of Helen A. Cotter of Charlestown and the late Edward and Elizabeth Leclair of South Boston. Beloved nephew of Paul and Eileen Cotter of Dorchester, Michael Cotter of Charlestown, John Leclair of Quincy, Dennis and Loren Leclair of Quincy, Betsy and Billy Vitoratos of Hyde Park, & Cindy and Carmello Cautilli of Brighton. Devoted uncle
of Catherine and Daisy. Big brother to Kaileen Cotter and lifelong best friend to Dave Moynihan. Also survived by many loving cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street in South Boston on Friday, February 26th from 5 to 8 PM. Interment services are private.
