Joan (Marcille) Crowther, 83, of Little Compton, passed on peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Silver Creek Manor. She was the wife of the late Donald Crowther, they shared 60 years of marriage.
Mrs. Crowther was born in Fall River, daughter of the late John and Blanche (Durand) Marcille and had resided in Little Compton for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she owned/operated the Commons Lunch followed by Crowther's Restaurant, both in Little Compton. She loved traveling to Aruba and Thailand, cruises to the Caribbean and she especially enjoyed her 50th anniversary trip to Hawaii with her husband. She was a Communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Little Compton. Mrs. Crowther liked rug braiding, sewing and quilting blankets for donations. She will be remembered for her gentle and kind spirit, her unconditional love and compassion for others. She was a true blessing to all of us.
Survivors include her 2 sons: Donald P. Crowther of Little Compton and Christopher J. Crowther and his wife Imm of Dartmouth; her brother: Peter Marcille of NJ; 2 grandchildren: Laura Winston and her husband Jared and Angela Crowther; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late George Marcille.
